For centuries, the Roman Catholic Church pursued a hard-line policy of celibacy among her priests. Then, in 1980, Pope Saint John Paul II’s Pastoral Provision simplified the process for married Anglican priests to continue in their vocation after converting to Catholicism. The Pope’s Pastoral Provision, which led to the founding of the Anglican Use Rite, stands as a testament to the universality of the Christian community and Catholic experience.
In addition to preserving the legacy of Pope St. John Paul II’s landmark decision, Project Thirty Six is partnering with Father Phillips from Our Lady of the Atonement to start an initiative to help Anglican priests in their discernment process. 50% of the profits made from this documentary will go towards starting this endeavor.
